If you haven't heard of it; huge hacker conference (couple of thousand
people go every year), arranged annually by one of the largest hacker
spaces in the world, Chaos Computer Club. This year called 26C3, since
it's the 26th conference. Tickets can be bought on place as of 17:00 on
the 26th of December. 80 € for a ticket to all the four days. 5 € to
sleep there per night.
Who else is planning to go?
Unruly udoprog and I are were both lazy enough to not buy tickets
earlier when they didn't cost as much, and are now trying to find viable
alternatives to get there (if nothing else, we'll hang out on Arlanda
airport on the 25th and try to get a cheap last minute ticket).
If others wants to go to 26C3 but haven't figured out how to get there,
we might try to find something together.
Some options we've come up with:
1) I have contact with some folks from Norway who are driving there in a
kind-of-big van. They're taking the ferry from Oslo to Kiel, so we'd
have to meet them there at 10 AM on the 26th, though the ferry prices
are in the same class as buying a house.
2) Hiking always works, right? Go through Denmark and then to Berlin.
Might arrive late though.
3) Flying there, though tickets are like twice the ferry costs at least.
We also thought about taking the train, but either SJ's booking site
sucks a bit more than I thought, or they actually don't have any trains
that go directly from Stockholm to Berlin during the days between
Christmas and new year. They do go like... every day the rest of the
year, but apparently not when we want to take it. I might be wrong
though; I couldn't keep up with the sites increasingly user-unfriendliness.

P.S.
If we don't find a cool way of getting to Germany cheap (and in time)
and I see any of you on the airport the 26th--sniping for a ticket--I
will bring my machete, and, by the Great Old Ones, using any means
necessary, dominate the king of the hill situation which surely will
occur when tickets gets available.
