The prices varies depending on the build. As of now the Proxmark is only
available in small series of custom manufactured and/or assembled circuit
boards. I'd say we could get down to a few hundred crowns but it all depends
on the amount we are willing to get.
Our best bet is to see how many of us are interested in getting it, then ask
around at the community message board if anyone is in the process of
ordering or manufacturing boards and what it would cost if we chipped in.
(Sorry for that one :P.) I am willing to ask around and will of course not
purchase anything from anyone without a proper discussion if the deal is
okay etc. Most of the people on the message board are fellow hackers, some
who like to solder complex circuits and some who are interested in
cooperative orders to keep unit prices low. I'll look for fully assembled
boards.
Hope my answer clarifies things.

PS. Proxmark3 was used in a security test of the Mifare Classic and was able
to succesfully skim and replicate a card used in the subway *at a distance*.
Incidentally, this is the very same tag that is now used in the Stockholm
subway (SL Access) as well as in London (Oyster), Hong Kong (Octupus) and
Göteborg.
PS2. Aptus is a company delivering RFID systems for residential buildings.
They are installing one in the corridors outside my studio as I type. Today
I found out that they use the EM4102 tag - *which is unencrypted*. Oh my.
They basicly just have removed all the locks in all of the suburbs.
PS3. I have mixed feelings about these issues and would like to find out
more about the implications.
PS4. I should be sleeping and not writing this long.
PS5. Oh, and I have a Phidget USB RFID Reader at home. And some tags to go.
If anyone has ideas. I plan to backup my keys, for a start.
