I also think that the Hacker spaces should not just make press releases
about the fight for property space.
Its important to have clear objectives so that people recognise the synergy
they feel and then get involved.

Arse covering statement so i don't get flamed :) coming up:
This is course is My opinion about what hacker spaces offer, and i know many
others have a different objectives and views.
For example related to encryption cracking or even breaking the existing
capitalist stranglehold that enslaves people, etc, etc


I think the following should be included on the web site and referenced in
some way on the "press releases":

a. Idea of Hacking hardware as a way for open source hardware movement to be
possible.
For example the success of open source software has been good, and now its
time for open source hardware as well.

b. The idea of allowing people to make their products rather than buy them
from a retailer.
Basically cutting out the multiple layers of distributors.
Best example is someone that makes their own computer, instead of buying it
complete.
The hacker spaces foster this idea for other hardware.

c. The idea of Machine making machines eventually.
For example a REP Rap style production system at every hackerspace,
and eventually in ever city.
This fits in with the environmental topology model of generating energy
locally; called micro generation.
Hacking and machines making machines will allow the same topology to all
machines.
